Cooking Like an Adult is a weekly podcast on cooking as a philosophy for a better life. Touching on simple recipes and some good music, each episode will try to engrave on its listeners a few principles on what cooking can be and what the practice of cooking can produce in our lives.
Cooking is trusting. Cooking is daring. Cooking is trying and getting better. To cook is to be imaginative and to be patient, to be creative but still practical. Cooking is learning while doing, measuring and understanding times.
If you think about it, it just represents a great philosophy on experimentation for the joy of life. Learning how to cook is embracing the importance of the processes that lie behind the small things that do us well. I firmly believe that if we conquer this craft and concept we will become better persons.
Cook to get distracted, cook to get inspired.
Cook to get relaxed, cook to be admired.
Cook to challenge yourself.
Cook to give some rest to your mind and some treat to your pallet.
On top of that, my therapist used to say that cooking is directly associated with our affective and emotional side. Therefore: if you don’t have someone to love, cook for yourself. If you’re looking to be loved, cook for someone. If you love someone, cook for them.
This podcast has the ultimate intention to share what cooking means to me and by suggesting a few recipes, I wish I’ll take you to beautiful moments of inspiration for a good daily feeding.
